Black-serie spars are the world’s most advanced Optimist rig. For many years it has been chosen as the official charter rig for the I.O.D.A  World and Continental Championships. Several outstanding results have been achieved in the past years.
Blacklite spars set is designed for lightweight sailors. Result of extensive testing with coaches and sailors worldwide, proven the best solution for sailors under 40 kg with a flexible mast with 40 mm boom. The 25% lighter EX902 flexible mast allows the sailor to depower the rig in heavy air while the 40 mm boom helps the sail maintain proper sail shape.
Feature for feature, there is no equal to the Blackgold sets. Two 45 microns black hard anodized 7075 masts, a choice of three black anodized booms and three black anodized 7075 sprits. All black fittings, hard anodized cleats, a black sprit chafe guard, captive eye straps on the boom, a halyard cleat with becket. Zero stretch, zero creep, black, Vectran line package, 45 mm power boom, New for 2017: Dyneema halyard with Harken hook-in block and Windesign low friction ring.
Three booms:
The 40 mm Blackgold Medium boom. A stiff and lightweight boom which is suitable for the majority of sailors.
The 45 mm Blackgold Power boom. A stiffer boom to keep more tension on the leech for the heavier sailor. The smaller bridle gives more space when tacking.
The 55 mm Blackmax ultra stiff and yet lightweight boom can be used without a bridle. This enables the larger sailor to land further forward when tacking. All booms are made from high grade, tempered tube. Fitted with captive eye straps, black nylon in- and outboard end fittings, nylon outhaul cleat, 4 mm Vectran outhaul and bridle, Vectran vang and outhaul trim gauge.
Three sprits:
The 26,6 mm Blacklite sprit is 20% more flexible than the Blackgold sprit.
The 27 mm Blackgold sprit
The 29 mm Blackmax  sprit is 19% stiffer than the 27 mm Blackgold sprit. Recommended only for sailors over 45 kg.
